Spun from multiple thin strands of 100% extra fine merino wool, which give the yarn its elasticity - DROPS Big Merino’s main characteristics are its softness, volume, elasticity and even result, which makes it ideal for knitting structured patterns such as cables.
It is this special construction of the yarn that makes it extra important to use the correct tension in your project, so use a tight tension rather than a loose one. DROPS Big Merino is also superwash treated and therefore machine washable and suitable for everyday use; but when washing your garments you must take extra care and follow closely the care instructions.
DROPS Big Merino is spun from fibers from free-range, mulesing free animals from South America and is Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified.

This yarn has an Oeko-Tex® certification (certificate number 25.3.0110), Standard 100, Class I from the INNOVATEXT TEXTILE ENGINEERING AND TESTING, HUNGARY. Class I is the highest level, and it means the yarn is suitable for baby articles (ages 0-3).

Order was delivered very quickly, I got the yarn I wanted and whole process went smoothly.
Very nice quality yarn, knits well and very soft to the touch. One star dropped as the actual colour does not truely reflect the colour shown - more a mid grey but still acceptable for my needs. Also there were a few tiny pieces of black yarn woven into the yarn very randomly on most balls. Not enough to worry about as I managed to pull them out.
This is a lovely shade of blue. Not used it yet but know it will knit up well as have knitted this yarn in a different shade. Very soft to the touch.

I was a little hesitant about buying this wool as I wasn't quite sure over the internet that it would be right for the pattern I wanted to knit as a special gift. When I received it I was delighted with the soft texture and potential warmth and comfort of the yarn. It is a really sumptuous to knit with and my gift of a special aran type scarf is developing into a soft quite luxurious item. I am delighted and will certainly buy this yarn again.
