Gabo Wool

Gabo Wool is a Polish yarn brand rooted in a love of natural fibres and the traditions of making. Its story reaches back to founder Krystian’s childhood, watching his grandparents work with wool, and later to time spent in Norway learning more deeply about wool, fibres and their production.

At Knitted Home, we discovered Gabo through Cashmerini — a yarn whose thoughtful combination of exceptional fibres, modern spinning techniques and a quietly contemporary colour palette immediately caught our attention.

Made from 70% extra-fine merino and 30% cashmere, Cashmerini brings together two remarkably fine fibres — both just 17 microns — creating a yarn that feels exceptionally gentle against the skin. The merino gives the yarn elasticity and structure, while the generous proportion of cashmere brings softness, warmth and that unmistakably comforting hand feel.

What makes Cashmerini especially interesting is its finish. Gabo uses an air-combing process to gently lift the natural fibres, creating a delicate halo around the yarn. The result is wonderfully soft and cloud-like, with generous volume and warmth without feeling overly dense. There is still enough definition beneath the halo for the stitches to be seen, giving finished pieces a beautifully relaxed, refined character.
