BABY CASHMERE – A RARE INDULGENCE IN CASHMERE
Baby Cashmere is the ultimate expression of luxurious softness. It is produced exclusively at the renowned Cariaggi mill in Italy from the first undercoat of baby cashmere goats in the Mongolian Highlands, a region known for producing some of the finest cashmere. The harsh climate encourages the growth of an ultra-fine insulating undercoat with a diameter of just 13.5 microns, making it significantly finer and rarer than conventional cashmere.
Organically certified by the Mongolian Chamber of Commerce, presented in its natural undyed shade (Color 54), the yarn highlights the authentic character of this exceptional fibre.
Available in Lace, 628 (sport weight) and Delizia (aran weight).
WHY BABY CASHMERE?
The term “baby” describes the first and finest undercoat collected from young goats. Because only very small quantities can be obtained, Baby Cashmere is considered one of the rarest and most luxurious natural fibers.
As with all our cashmere bases, Baby Cashmere 6/28 is SFA-certified organic, ensuring that every step of the production process adheres to the highest standards of animal welfare, environmental preservation, and community support. The Sustainable Fibre Alliance (SFA) guarantees ethical treatment of goats, sustainable grazing practices, and fair wages for herders, making this yarn a responsible choice for eco-conscious knitters.
